Enrolling approximately 200 students each year, St.
Walter features a diverse student body. Our school
offers personalized attention for each student's
needs. Here, you are a person, not a number. We
feature one room per grade throughout the school with
a full-day kindergarten. Our pre-kindergarten program
offers a flexible program for 3 or 4 year olds with
full day and half day options for 3 or 5 days per
week. The Extended Day program offers loving, skilled
care from 6:30 am - 8 am and 2:45 pm - 6:30 pm
daily at a moderate cost. Also - to the delight of
parents - we offer a daily hot lunch program! Each
classroom is wired for cable television and has at
least one Internet-capable computer.
Academic
progress is communicated through quarterly report cards.
For students not fully performing to their best
abilities, mid-term progress reports are also important
tools for working with parents to ensure academic
success. While a mandatory parent-teacher meeting is
held in November, teachers are always available to meet
with a parent as needed.
Identifying
communication as the most important part of your child's
academic life at St. Walter, a weekly packet of information
is sent home each Thursday. This packet contains a principal's
letter to highlight accomplishments or classroom events.
The packet also includes activity announcements for
the school, parish and community.
St. Walter School is proud to have attracted students
with diverse backgrounds from our neighborhood and
surrounding communities. We genuinely believe that
diversity within our school makes us a better and
stronger school. We are committed to creating an
inclusive, open, and respectful culture and school
environment where the abilities of each student are
valued, and each student is given every opportunity to
achieve his/her potential at every stage of their
academic progress.
