D. The home environment is very important when a child is working on his / her assignments. I would like to suggest the following:
- a. Assign a specific place in the home where homework can be done every night.
- b. Allow a certain time of the afternoon or evening for completing homework.
- c. It is very difficult for a child to concentrate when distracting noises are around such as television, phone, etc… Your child should have a quiet atmosphere where there are no interruptions.
E. Absences – If your child is absent, he / she is responsible for the work missed. If the absence is longer, a request for the assignments can be made through the office.
F. Missing Assignments – If a child does not complete a homework assignment, I would ask you to write a brief note explaining the reason why. The assignment will be due the next day. If there is no note, the assignment will be considered unexcused.
