Welcome | Supply List | Homework Policy | Let's Start Right | Monthly News | Educational Websites

A fourth grader may expect a total of 4 hours homework per week. Remember to turn in all assignments on time. If work is turned in one day late; you will receive a grade no higher than “B”. Work over one day late is expected to be finished, but the grade will be no higher than “C”. No exceptions!! This policy will help students to become more responsible, to develop good behavior and academic skills. In case of illness you will be given enough time to do make-up work. However, it will be the responsibility of the student to obtain all make-up work on returning. If a scheduled test is missed, you are expected to take the test when you return. In the event of long illness and absence, other arrangements will be made. An assignment notebook is provided by the school for each student to record their assignments and homework.

The Test/Quiz dates will be marked in red, so that the parents may easily identify these important factors. After a test/quiz, the grade will be recorded in the assignment notebook. This book is to be signed by the parents over the weekend and returned each Monday. Tests on all subjects will be given as the students are ready at the completion of each chapter/unit. All Tests and the graded worksheets with a grade of 80% or lower should be signed by the parents. Students are always expected to correct errors on worksheets / assignments and Tests. GRADING: All academic grades in Fourth Grade will consist of 33.33% of daily grades (homework, daily assignments, participation…etc.) and 66.67% of the Test grades. (Chapter tests, unit tests, Quizzes, projects…etc.) Mid-quarter reports will be sent for all the students who are not working up to potential. (Ref. Family Handbook Page 5)
